Jordan Sidoo Scholarship 2022-2023

For Student Athletes

Future student athletes can apply for the Jordan Sidoo Scholarship for Student Athletes, where $1,000 will be given to one student who is studying their chosen major while also participating in at least one sport. A short essay will be required and the winner will be chosen based off of the content in that essay.

Scholarship Overview

Mr. Sidoo has spent many years as a student athlete and would like the chance to give back to the next generation of student athletes with this scholarship award.

The Jordan Sidoo Scholarship for Student Athletes announces the inception of our fund, which is available for future student athletes who are located in the United States. We will provide funding for a deserving student who is studying while involved in at least one sport and we aim to create awareness for the issues faced by young students who are involved in student athletics.

Criteria

In order to apply, the applicant should be a current university or high school student that will attend university.  We wish to focus on those students who also participate in athletics at their school.

We will award the scholarship  based on the winner of our essay competition.  We will select one winner with the best creative essay of under 1000 words which answers:  

“Describe why participating in athletics is important to you and how being a student athlete will better help you prepare for the future.”

Amount

One time award of $1,000

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is January 15, 2023.

Winner Announced

The winner for the scholarship will be announced February 15, 2023.

Applicant should email their response to the essay question “Describe why participating in athletics is important to you and how being a student athlete will better help you prepare for the future.” in Word Doc format to [email protected].
